During the fourth annual Best of All Things Irish in Maine contest, guests will again vote for The Best Irish Beers of Maine!

Maine has an impressive array of beers brewed by committed and creative brewers. We will highlight all the excellent Irish brews, including Best Irish Red Ale, Best Irish Stout, and Best New Irish Brew.

Every guest will have a scorecard and may rate and rank as many beers as they choose. At the end of the evening, we will compile the results and name the best in class for each type of Irish Beer.

Registration is limited to 10 breweries on a first come basis. We anticipate around 400 attendees.

Donations and Promotions

The "Best Irish Beer in Maine" competition is our primary annual Fundraiser for the Maine Irish Heritage Center. Funds raised go towards restoring one of Portland's most important historic buildings and developing community and outreach programs. If you are from Maine and have Irish roots, chances are that your ancestors helped build our landmark home brick-by-brick in the 1800s. Event proceeds also support Irish arts and culture throughout Maine. We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you for what is shaping up to be a fantastic event!

Beer Supply

We are requesting that you bring 2x 1/6 keg for each beer you pour. In recognition of the contribution you are making to our annual fund-raiser, we are offering a stipend of $160 for each registered beer. Please indicate whether you wish to receive the full stipend or want to receive a receipt for this amount as a tax-deductible donation to the Maine Irish Heritage Center. Thank you!

Raffle Donation

Breweries that participate in "The Best of All Things Irish in Maine" and donate beer receive our standard marketing package (A) worth $250. It includes a 1/2 page ad in the event program and a series of dedicated social media posts. You may upgrade this for an additional $250 to receive greater benefits like a full-page ad and priority positioning on our website and additional traditional and social marketing spots. If you choose this option, we'll send you an invoice.

Volunteers

We anticipate that you will have adequate staff for your station. Attendees really like getting into conversations about the beers and nobody can tell your story better than you can! We will have volunteers available to help during breaks. If you have an extraordinary need for volunteers, please let us know.

Last year, the Best Irish Beer in Maine contest was a resounding success. The winners were Footbridge Brewery for Danny Boy (Best Stout), Nonesuch River Brewing for Red (Best Red Ale) and Baxter Brewing for Jordyn's Irish Red (Best New Brew). We hope to replicate last year's success and add to it. We have taken all the input provided by last year's participants and visitors and have make several tweaks to the program. Please let us know what makes an event great for you. If you have special requests or ideas to help us make this year an amazing success for all, please let us know. We are listening.
