By applying, you agree to adhere to the guidelines set forth below. This is a family-oriented event open to Maine authors. No sexually explicit, pornographic, or gratuitously violent material will be accepted. Eligibility and Product Requirements: Authors must have physical books to sell. There is no limit to the number of titles you may offer. You may also sell “tie-in” products such as merchandise (e.g., stuffed animals, jewelry, journals), but your primary product must be a book. Each author is required to donate one book for a raffle to be held during the event. Application Process: - Applications must be submitted no later than November 15, 2024. - Due to limited space, authors will be vetted by genre on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a particular genre is filled, any author applying to participate in that genre will be placed on a waiting list. - Please be specific when listing your book genre(s). If you write in multiple genres, indicate which ones are most important to you. Booth Information: - Authors may bring their own 6 ft. table and linens, or opt to rent a 4 ft. space on a shared 8-foot table provided by the Maine Irish Heritage Center (linens included). If sharing a table, please note the author you wish to share with on your application. - Authors may bring table decorations, but no open flames, confetti, or glitter are permitted. Electricity will not be available at the tables. Signage must be limited to table displays (up to 2 feet high) or affixed to the front of your table. Event Setup and Participation: - Setup begins at 9:00 AM on December 14. Authors are expected to remain for the entire event, which runs from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Early breakdowns will disqualify participants from future events. Marketing and Promotion: - Authors must submit a headshot (300 dpi, jpg or png), up to three book covers and a short biography (100 words or less). This information will be used for event promotions online and in the event program. - Authors are encouraged to promote their participation on social media and other platforms to help maximize attendance. Costs and Cancellations: - Authors are responsible for their own costs, including travel, lodging, meals, shipping, and sales tax remittance. - Cancellations made by December 1, 2024, will receive a full refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. I understand that these images or recordings may be used in various formats, including but not limited to social media, websites, promotional materials, and press releases, without further compensation or notification. I waive any right to inspect or approve the final versions of the media, including any written copy that may be used in connection with them.
