About Us

Tradition. Confidence. Excellence.

Since 1991, The Stillson School of Irish Dance has brought the art of Irish Dance to the wonderful state of Maine.  Our school provides an energetic classroom environment that helps children develop a love of Irish dance, increases coordination, builds friendships, and drives the self-confidence to perform in front of an audience!  It is our balanced approach to solo dancing, performance, and team dancing that leads us to our greatest successes on and off the dance floor.

Our students have gone on to become professional dancers at renowned companies around the world, including Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games. Our dancers compete at regional, national, and international competitions, and the World Championships. The school has a great track record of creating excellent dancers and champions, a number of whom have gone on to become Regional and National titleholders, as well as World medalists, and top podium placers. The Stillson School also has a successful team program and has trained top Regional, National, and World ceili and figure teams. We have performed with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, the Red Claws, the Portland Sea Dogs, with Eileen Ivers, and at Downtown Disney.

Dancers of all ages will learn the fundamentals of Irish dance, as a tradition, a sport, and an art form. We encourage teamwork and lifelong friendships through classes, competitions, and performances.

We welcome students of all ages and skill levels. Classes are currently available at the studio and online.
